Ten Pastors from Unreached Regions Served!

Pastor Peter, fourth from the right, hosted these pastors for fellowship, encouragement, and leadership training in Watamu, Kenya. Connecting with and serving these pastors is a vital step Kainos is taking toward the goal of developing a church planting movement in the heavily-Muslim-influenced northeast regions of Kenya. In fact, two of these pastors renounced Islam for Jesus and are leading churches.

TEN FRONTIER pastors (see image above) were served as a result of Kainos Global support this month! As I have been seeking the Lord this summer on what to be our next focus area in Kenya missions, I keep feeling the impression that we are to start planting churches in deeply Unreached areas. It has always been on my heart to be part of a missional church planting movement, and it seems we are finally in a position to start making real progress in the area God has called us to minister to.

I’m no longer interested in doing missions work for the sake of getting things done, or even for the excitement of making an impact in the lives of others. Although seeing lives changed is incredibly exciting, I am more interested in creating lasting legacy with an impact for the Kingdom of God that far outlives me. I love what the Apostle Paul says to Timothy in his second letter to Timothy:

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2, NKJV

Second Timothy is considered the last letter Paul wrote before his execution, and it is a treasure trove of godly wisdom and instruction. Here we find that Paul was mindful of a lasting legacy when he instructed Timothy to focus on raising up leaders who were able to replicate themselves and thereby multiply the efforts of sharing the gospel all over the known world.

Here’s a visual breakdown of what Paul was saying:
Paul > Timothy > Faithful men > Others

Paul isn’t just looking to make an impact during his lifetime, but he is thinking at four levels deep! First Paul, then the next generation (Timothy), then faithful men who could teach others. The point here is to multiply and experience exponential growth of sharing and proliferation of the Gospel of Jesus.

The more I learn about who God really is, the more I see that He is after multiplication in nearly every area of our lives. Notice how the faithful multipliers were praised in the parables of the minas and the talents (Luke 19:11-27 and Matthew 25:14-29, respectively). The ones who multiplied were blessed, and the ones who did not multiply were doomed. Jesus multiplied loaves and fish twice. The church grew exponentially at its inception as recorded in Acts. The good soil produces 30, 60, and 100-fold returns (this is a nonlinear relationship). And I could go on!

I want to encourage you today with a couple things:

1. You are designed to be a multiplier, not an adder or subtractor. When you walk in intimacy with the Lord in divine alignment with His calling on your life, you should expect to see divine multiplication happening. What is it that you are doing right now that you need / want to see God multiply? Have you considered what HE wants YOU to multiply in this season? God isn’t a cheap, low-level, small-potatoes kind of God. He seems to be fascinated with the idea of multiplying the most insignificant things into extraordinary wonders–it’s one way He gets the glory.

2. I wanted to let you know how Kainos is doing. I believe God is multiplying the seed our partners are sowing into Kainos, and I want you to know how much I value our partners’ faithful investments! I want you to know that I am thinking LEGACY not ACTION, and that the Lord is speaking to me about planting churches in some of the most Unreached places in all of Africa. This leadership development event with the ten pastors (shown above) is one small step in the direction we believe God is leading us. We are developing pastors, leaders, and missionaries who will one day plant churches in these dark regions, bringing the light of Jesus into the world. If you are not currently financially partnering with Kainos Global, please prayerfully consider joining the mission.

With all my love, thanksgiving, and my prayers for you as you multiply what God has given you in every area of your life,
