Reaching the Unreached in Northeastern Kenya! Kainos Global July 2025 Update

The image at the top of this post shows our outreach ministry team praying before ministering on the streets of Malindi, Kenya. This outreach was made possible by the generous gifts of Kainos Global partners! THANK YOU!!

This video shows one example of how Kainos Global partners are changing lives in Kenya! This man is a pastor and missions leader who fell upon hard times (quite common in Kenya) and we were able to give him a financial gift that helped him support his family. Through the financial gifts of our partners, we are able to minister to pastors and leaders while concurrently carrying out God’s great commission to preach the gospel of Jesus to every corner of the globe.

This image shows several pastors and missionaries who are ministering to people in some of the most remote (and oftentimes dangerous) areas near our home base. We were able to give these brave leaders training and leadership development teachings, Bibles, along with encouragement to continue and strengthened networks.

Reaching the Unreached!

The gospel of Jesus is spreading in northeastern Kenya where God has given me a deep burden and a vision for the unreached people groups there. The term “unreached” refers to the most extreme value on the Joshua Project Progress Scale, a quantitative measure and is an estimate of the progress of church planting among a people group, people cluster, country or language. Within the “unreached” category are two sub-categories, which go into further detail. Here are the two sub-categories:

Unreached (Not Frontier): Evangelicals between 0.1% and 2%. Professing Christians between 0.1% and 5%.

Unreached (Frontier): Evangelicals ≤0.1%. Professing Christians ≤0.1%.

These are sobering statistics. Think about this for a minute! This is describing an entire people group that has less than or equal to 0.1 percent (that’s 1 in 1000 people) who are ‘professing Christians’ and the same amount (roughly) who are of the evangelical Christian category, which is a decent measure of how many people are likely to be born-again Jesus-followers. As an example, we are able to reach several Frontier Unreached people groups (see the following image) in northeastern Kenya with the gospel of Jesus. Hallelujah!

The people groups we are reaching are roughly 99.6% Muslim with little to no access to the gospel of Jesus. Witch doctors, shaaman, and animistic worship practices abound. We have story after story of powerful witches who, upon experiencing demonstrations of the Spirit of God, would immediately destroy their charms and abandon their practices, giving their lives to Jesus through often spectacular displays of transformation.

Notice especially how far our team has to travel to reach some of these remote areas. When I was last there in person, we travelled about 620 miles (996 km) in just a few days to minister to as many of these groups as we could. During that trip we made breakthrough connections and walked through some open doors that had never been opened before in that region. God put it on my heart to visit some of the regions near the Somali border (which can be dangerous) but I knew I had heard from God, so there we went. The result of that particular trip was that a tremendous door for the gospel was flung open and we gained trust and access to a large population of Muslims that Christians in that region had never been able to access before.

I wanted to share some numbers with you so you can see for yourself what God is up to. These numbers are updated as of the end of June 2025.

Man, I don’t know about you, but I am just praising God as I type out these numbers. You have to realize that our income to support the missions work is actually quite low. But God is a multiplier of any resource that you offer to Him with a willing and obedient heart! Don’t you remember what Jesus did when they gave him those five little loaves and two bite-sized salted fish? He multiplied those tiny resources into a huge provision that blessed thousands of people. Indeed, when you look at that table of values for 2025 so far, you are witnessing a miracle. God is supernaturally multiplying the resources we have and is providing for our every need. We really are seeing miracles continually as we step out in faith to press forward with the Gospel in this part of the world. God really has called us to do this, and we are seeing Him confirm His Word with signs and wonders, along with supernatural multiplication of resources, as we obey Him! Glory to Jesus.

Key Takeaways

Here are the main things I really wanted to share with you today:

  1. There are still SO MANY people out there who need to hear the gospel of Jesus through the hands of loving, Holy Spirit-filled believers! At the least, I encourage you to begin a regular routine of praying over these precious people whom God sent Jesus into the world to save. The Word of God commands us to pray over “all people” (1 Timothy 2:1-2), and Jesus even taught us exactly how to pray over them:
    • Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease [a]among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Matthew 9:35-38
    • This is just ONE way to pray over the lost and broken, and there are many other ways to release power and authority in the spirit realm through prayer, but we will not go into that today.
  2. God has opened up a unique door for Kainos Global in northeastern Kenya. God continues to multiply our resources, opportunities, connections, and outreach events to bring more and more people into the Kingdom of Jesus, and we are thrilled to be part of what He is doing. Over years of prayer and effort, we have injected the gospel of Jesus into some of the darkest and most unreached places in Africa; near the Somalian border! We are able to invest in local pastors and missionaries who are in turn reaching some of the most unreached (Frontier!) people groups in Africa.
  3. The Gospel is free, but it costs to get it there. You and I know this, but it bears repeating. The truth is, Kainos Global is supported by a very small number of (extremely faithful!) financial partners. My vision is to have an income of at least $1000.00 per month (we are just below $500 now), which will allow us to:
    • Buy more Bibles for new believers, pastors, and missionaries in Unreached areas
    • Bring the JESUS film to more tribal groups in the bush country
    • Put fuel in the tank (literally) for our outreach missions to remote areas
    • Host more meals and training events for pastors, missionaries, and church leaders
    • Host more community meals (primarily Muslim attendees!!)
    • Host more jigger foot treatment events for local village children
    • … there’s literally too many things to list here!

I love you, and I am grateful for your prayers and, if you are a Kainos Global partner, your financial support which has changed so many lives for the Kingdom of God! Jenny and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your partnership, your prayers, and for believing in us as we continue to do what God has called us to do in Africa and here in the States as we step into the next stage of our grand adventure–a full time job for me in the aerospace engineering industry! Will keep you posted on that. 🙂
